A tragedy occurred on the coasts of the Spanish archipelago after a terrible shark attack that cost the life of a German tourist who was swimming in the middle of the sea when the animal bit her.
According to the testimonies, the woman was traveling on a boat that set sail on September 14 from Las Palmas heading south of Spain. While in the Canary Islands, the boat stopped and there the German tourist decided to get off to swim, it was then that the attack occurred.
A shark, of which the species is not yet known, attacked the woman biting her on the leg, which caused her to lose it and be left in the middle of the sea badly injured, a marine rescue group from Spain responded to the emergency call to assist and try to save the woman’s life.

Once the emergency services arrived, the woman was taken out of the water to be treated and stabilized. The 30-year-old tourist, identified as a German national, was taken to a nearby hospital by helicopter, where they tried to save her upon arrival, however, the loss of blood was such that it caused a heart attack, which ended up taking her life.

Authorities indicated that shark attacks on bathers have been reported in other areas, but none had been fatal like the one on the German tourist, so they have asked the population to remain alert and take extreme precautions when they are in the sea.
They have also asked not to panic so as not to cause the slaughter of the species, since sharks are often confused when they see a bather thinking that they are fish that they can hunt and that is why they end up attacking.
It should be noted that these shark attacks do not always end in tragedy.
