After the alleged split between singer Grimes and Tesla owner Elon Musk, the couple surprised the world with the news that they (secretly) welcomed their second baby named Exa Dark Sideræl, who they affectionately call ‘Y’.
The news came to light after Grimes talked to Vanity Fair magazine and, in a twist of the story, the journalist who was talking to the singer in her house started hearing the baby crying upstairs.
Once the crying of the new daughter gave Claire Elise Boucher (Grimes) away, the singer had no choice but to reveal some details.
She mentioned that little ‘Y’ came into the world in December 2021 via surrogate because she suffered from health complications in her first pregnancy.
When questioned about their separation, Grimes said that both Musk and she are fine, maintain a very free relationship, and are even looking to have at least three or four children.
“There’s no real word for it. I would probably refer to him as my boyfriend, but we’re very fluid. We live in separate houses. We’re best friends. We see each other all the time… We just have our own relationship and I don’t expect other people to understand it,” she said.
After confessing about the existence of her new daughter, Exa, the singer simply made it clear that both she and Musk will be careful on the subject of both their son ‘X Æ A-12′ and little Exa Dark Sideræl.
“I’m not at liberty to talk about these things. I feel that children should be kept out of it, and E (Musk) wants to protect them,” he said.
What does Exa Dark Sideræl, the name of Elon Musk and Grimes’ new daughter, mean?
“Exa refers to a supercomputing term, exaFLOPS, while Dark stands for ‘the unknown’ […] People are afraid of it, but it’s really the absence of photons. Dark matter is the beautiful mystery of our universe,” he said.
As for ‘Sideræl,’ Grimes mentioned that it is an Elvish spelling that he defines as “the true time of the universe, the time of the stars, the time of deep space, not our relative earth time.”
