How many times have you heard you have to drink water to stay healthy? I bet you have a specific amount in mind, like 8 glasses, for example. Well, it turns out drinking water really is that important, so this article isn’t exactly going to debunk this “myth”, in case you thought that’s what you were going to get. However, there is such a thing as drinking too much water.
Water helps you get energized, flush some waste and have all the nutrients flow through your body, among many other benefits. It’s true that you have heard the 8 glasses rule, haven’t you? Well, this is the part that might get debunked here. There’s no scientific evidence as to exactly how much water everyone should drink. I mean, think about it: one size-fits-all amount of water for all of us?Regardless of our size? Regardless of our weight or specific condition of our health?
The real tip here is that drinking water is a personal experience. Just drink as much as you feel or think you need. Open the tap and serve yourself a glass of water if you’re feeling thirsty. If you feel dry, drink water. If you feel dizzy, drink water. Don’t down glass after glass after class because you feel like it’s what you should be doing. Listen to your body, and you’ll be fine.

That being said, the best way to keep hydrated is by drinking plain water. And ultimately, as they say, just trust your gut.
