The sun has set on Miley Cyrus’s relationship with Liam Hemsworth, one of the most private celebrity couples in the past decade. Few details were known about how their on-and-off relationship was like. When they got married in December of 2018, it was a surprise for the public, and now that they have officially called it quits. “Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time,” a representative for Miley told People on August 10. “Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.” Though they had a nearly 10 year relationship, their marriage lasted about 8 months.

Hemsworth himself made it official today by posting a message on his Instagram account: “Hi all. Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward,” the actor, 29, captioned a photo of a beach sunset via Instagram on Monday, August 12. “This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets. Any reported quotes attributed to me are false. Peace and Love.”The Daily Mail Australia had, hours prior, asked to address the issue, to which Hemsworth allegedly responded: “You don’t understand what it’s like. I don’t want to talk about it, mate.”

Meanwhile, Miley somewhat addressed these recent events by posting a reflection of time and evolution of geography. “Don’t fight evolution, because you will never win. Like the mountain I am standing on top of, which was once under water, connected with Africa, change is inevitable,” she captioned two photos of herself with the picturesque mountain ranges of northeastern Italy in the background. The Dolomites were not created over night, it was over millions of years that this magnificent beauty was formed.
