Sometimes, after a day of eating chips, ice cream, or even after a heavy dinner, you can feel a bit bloated. While it’s a normal reaction of the body during the process of digestion, some food can leave you more swollen than normal, making you uncomfortable and even in pain.
Though having a healthy diet can help prevent bloating, sometimes it’s inevitable. Fortunately, there are many great beverages you can have that, besides easing discomfort, will help you cleanse your system and even lose weight. The best part is that they’re really cheap and easy to make, so you just have to add them to your night routine and you will see quick results.
Hibiscus or Tamarind
Besides being delicious, hibiscus and tamarind water is a great diuretic that can help you treat liquid retention in the body. Just a glass of this traditional Mexican beverage every night (don’t add sugar!) will help you feel lighter. You can also prepare a hibiscus infusion if you prefer and the results will be the same.
Lemon and Chia Seed
Chamomile Tea
This classic tea does more than calm and keep you warm. A popular relief for belly aches, chamomile is also helpful to reduce bloating, besides being great to help you sleep.
Oat Brew
This preparation is quite easy and cheap. Just boil three glasses of water with 100 grams of oat seeds for about thirty minutes. Strain it to remove the seeds and drink it every night before going to sleep. This will help you cleanse your stomach and reduce bloating. You’ll notice the results in a matter of days.
Hot Water
This beverage is great if you want to improve your digestion and de-bloat your belly effortlessly. While drinking cold water makes your body work hard to adjust the temperature of the body, warm water requires less energy to process it, thus, drinking it after a meal can help break down the food and prevent bloating as well.
Cranberry Tea
Besides reducing bloating, cranberry tea is also great to reduce your blood sugar levels, preventing the body from storing sugar that will eventually turn into fat.
Now, though these beverages are amazing, they’re not miraculous; they require a change of habits and taking some things into consideration. For instance, it’s advisable to have dinner at least two hours before going to sleep to have a proper digestion. Besides that, walking for thirty minutes can also help you release toxins.
