Thousands of dead fish mysteriously appeared on the coast of northern Japan. A video shows the lifeless fish being dragged by the water towards the shore in a sequence that has caused commotion on social networks.

So far, authorities have not revealed what caused the phenomenon, although many people speculated in X that it could be a consequence of recent earthquakes in the area or waters contaminated with nuclear waste. Changing water temperatures is also a possibility.
A few months ago, in a similar incident in Japan, thousands of frozen sardines washed up on the beaches of three towns in Hokkaido. Their bodies were spread several kilometers along the coast of the Sea of Okhotsk. In 2018 the same thing happened near the city of Wakkanai after a heavy snowstorm.
