Another Hollywood love story comes to an end; Sofía Vergara and Joe Manganiello, announced they’re getting divorced after seven years of marriage. The former couple issued a statement where they give the sad news and ask fans for some privacy during this harsh time.
However, Page Six reports that a close source to the couple has now revealed what might’ve been the cause of separation. Joe Manganiello has been sober for over two decades after struggling with alcoholism in the early stages of his career. Still, despite he started his relationship with Sofía way after he started his journey, according to the source, “the fact that Sofía is not sober had an impact on their marriage.”
After these declarations became public, another source close to the Modern Family actress added that Sofía Vergara was extremely supportive of her husband’s sobriety journey throughout their marriage. At the end of the day, even if this was the reason for their separation, it seems they are amicably parting ways showing that beyond the problems they might’ve had, there was lots of love in their relationship.
Rumors of a possible separation started before the announcement was made after Manganiello shared a cold post on Sofía Vergara’s birthday. She is now enjoying some birthday vacations in Italy and the fact that Joe was nowhere to be seen sparked even more rumors. Now that the divorce has been made official, close friends of the actress have commented on that organically. In one of Sofía’s recent Instagram posts, Julie Bowen (her Modern Family co-star) commented: “This is what single and 🔥 looks like!!!”
