People should know by now that throwing shade at Taylor Swift might not be the best idea, as the Swifties can be mean! Apparently, Olivia Wilde didn’t get the memo or chose to confront the Swifties with what fans are deeming a very shady post.
As we all know, Taylor Swift has been all over the tabloids for her romance with Kansas City player Travis Kelce. Their relationship has caused such a stir that even the likes of people like Donald Trump have commented on it. Today, Olivia Wilde did the same but in a very condescending and shady way.
Did Olivia Wilde Throw Shade at Taylor Swift?
Olivia Wilde posted a story on Instagram with a screenshot of an X (former Twitter) post that read as follows: “I wish Taylor Swift was in love with a climate scientist.” The post was made by Katja Herbers, whom you might remember from Westworld. Naturally, the original post and Olivia Wilde’s story raised havoc on social media to the point that Herbers had to explain what she meant.
According to Katja Herbers, she didn’t mean to throw shade at the “Cruel Summer” singer but to raise awareness about climate change and the impact someone like Taylor would have on the world if committed to the movement. “Taylor would join her scientist at an end fossil fuels rally, and the world would be saved.”
Taylor has such an influence that she could, indeed, save the world. But this message is simply condescending since it’s not Taylor Swift’s job to single-handedly do something, nor guilt her about allegedly not doing something. Besides that, why would it matter who is she dating or not?
This might sound like a very woke message but at the end of the day, it fulfills no purpose only to attack someone who’s enjoying her success and her life. Why not ask her to support something, why the need to shame her and who she decides to hang out with?
Fans are certain that Wilde has never liked Taylor for her history with Harry Styles and that she simply found a way to mess up with her.
