It’s surely been a terrible year for actor Jamie Foxx. Back in April, the Django Unchained actor was reportedly on the brink of death in a hospital bed. Now that he’s recovered, his past has decided to haunt him in the form of a lawsuit for assault.
Jamie Foxx Accused of Assault
A lawsuit was issued against Jamie Foxx this Wednesday from an incident that allegedly happened back in 2015. Although the plaintiff’s real name is being concealed, and the suit was issued by Jane Doe, the details of the incident are shocking.
Jamie Foxx is being sued for assaulting a woman at a rooftop bar in New York City eight years ago. According to the lawsuit, the plaintiff was sitting at a table next to Foxx and asked him for a photo. She and a friend posed next to the star, but since the beginning, she felt uncomfortable at Jamie Foxx’s comments.

It all happened around 1 am; Foxx allegedly started telling her that she had a “supermodel body” and that “she smelled great.” The plaintiff even added that he mentioned she looked like actress Gabrielle Union. After the photo was taken, Foxx allegedly took her by the arm and led her to a more private section of the bar.
Doe then recalls that Foxx started groping her breasts underneath her blouse. She felt uncomfortable but was taken by surprise, so shock impeded her to react. Foxx then put her hand inside her pants and assaulted her. According to the suit, a security guard witnessed the assault but did nothing to stop it. Jamie Foxx walked away when the plaintiff’s friend came back.
The alleged victim wants compensation for the emotional distress, anxiety, and humiliation provoked by the actor, claiming that she had to seek medical and psychological attention. Besides Jamie Foxx, the lawsuit also names Mark Birnbaum, owner of the bar, who was sitting with Foxx on the table, and his staff, who did nothing to stop the alleged assault.
