Mike Tyson suffered a medical emergency on an airplane during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles on May 26, requiring the assistance of paramedics.
According to an eyewitness, “Mike had some kind of medical emergency on the plane and paramedics boarded. Before the paramedics arrived, the flight issued an announcement asking for a doctor — the message even appeared on everyone’s screens,” the person told In Touch Weekly.
Tyson took time to get selfies with fans when the flight was delayed due to the heat in Miami. Then, passengers received a pre-recorded message asking if there were any medical personnel on the plane.
To debunk rumors that the flight was delayed due to a severe medical issue with the boxer, Mike’s representative told the magazine that he is just fine, explaining that the emergency was due to an ulcer: “Thankfully, Mr. Tyson is doing great. He became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare-up 30 minutes before landing.”
He also stated that the star was grateful to the medical staff who helped him during this medical issue.
The 57-year-old legendary boxer will face the internet personality (and now boxer) Jake Paul, 27, in a boxing match scheduled for July 20, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. This will be his first professional match in almost two decades. According to ESPN, by the time the two fighters step into the ring for their heavyweight clash, Tyson will have celebrated his 58th birthday and will be 31 years older than Paul. The fight will be contested over eight 2-minute rounds, and each fighter will wear 14-ounce gloves.

Despite the age difference, Mike says that he has been training every day for the match and is confident about his performance. “This guy is going to come and try to hurt me, which I’m accustomed to. And he’s going to be greatly mistaken.”

Tyson competed from 1985 to 2005, becoming the first heavyweight boxer to simultaneously hold the WBA, WBC, and IBF titles, as well as the only heavyweight to unify them in succession.
