As reported by Deadline, Will Smith has accepted an offer from Sony Pictures to star in a science fiction thriller film based on the novel ‘Influx‘ by Daniel Suárez.
Sony’s Sci-Fi Thriller Film Starring Will Smith
After all the drama that occurred at the 2022 Oscars when Will Smith slapped Chris Rock, Smith is finally seeing the light and getting out of the gutter he got into because of his brutal cancellation. Apparently the success achieved after releasing “Bad Boys: Ride or Die” hasn’t been enough and the Sony production company has already signed him for a next mission, which is a film starring him.
This agreement comes after Smith’s “Bad Boys: Ride or Die” release, which has raked in $215.5 million in its first two weekends at the box office, pushing the “Bad Boys” series past the $1 billion mark in lifetime earnings.
This new film will be based on ‘Influx’, a 2015 novel written by American author Daniel Suárez, which is about a physicist who invents a device that can manipulate gravity. But his breakthrough attracts the attention of a secretive organization bent on suppressing advanced technology. When his lab is shut down and he’s imprisoned, he teams up with other rebel scientists to unravel a conspiracy designed to keep humanity stuck in a perpetual technological dark age.
