Will Smith made a surprise appearance on Sunday at the Coachella festival to join J Balvin on stage to perform the song “Men in Black” from his successful 1997 film of the same name. The actor and rapper appeared dressed in black with a pair of sunglasses, just like his character in the movie, where he stars alongside Tommy Lee Jones as investigators of an organization that monitors extraterrestrial life on planet Earth.
In a video shared on social media, both singers can be seen performing the musical piece, while dancers dressed as aliens and an alien head moved around them. At the end of the performance, Balvin was escorted off stage by two people dressed in black.
Later, Smith used the memory-wiping device from the movie to erase the memories of the agents who were about to retire.
The actor’s epic appearance was one of the highlights of the festival, which featured several surprises this edition, with performances from artists such as Lana Del Rey, Peso Pluma, Olivia Rodrigo, No Doubt, Shakira, Bizarrap, and not only on stage, but also celebrities like Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, and Will Smith’s son, Jaden Smith, were spotted at the event.
