Psychologist Dr. Thema Bryant, during an interview on Mel Robbins’ podcast, explained that finding violent content relaxing isn’t exactly normal. It doesn’t apply to everyone, but it could signal that you’ve experienced trauma or high levels of stress in the past, even if you’re not fully aware of it.

“Some of us grew up in high-stress environments, so we confuse peace with boredom. To go home, you have to accept the discomfort because peace will feel strange,” she said.
