The spooky season is here, and the Warrens know it! Well, it was them, in one of the many cases they investigated, who were in charge of taking the most famous paranormal photo, where John DeFeo appears, the ghost of one of the children killed in the infamous Amityville house. Here’s the frightening story!
If we talk about ghosts, possessions, and even demons, the Warrens are certainly included, since Ed and Lorraine Warren dedicated their lives to paranormal research, and during their years in action they had cases that inspired movies like The Conjuring, Annabelle, The Nun, and even books and movies of the Amityville case.
The Amityville case is mentioned in The Conjuring 2 by Lorraine Warren, as the character comments that she was transported to an astral dimension where the child John DeFeo was and where she also met an entity that manifested itself in the form of a nun who predicted his death.

John DeFeo, the Ghost Child Captured by the Warrens
In 1974, Amityville, a town located in Long Island, New York, witnessed one of the most mysterious and famous murders of all time, as Ronald DeFeo Jr., who at the time was 23 years old, murdered his entire family, supposedly because he heard voices ordering him to do so.
His parents, Ronald DeFeo and Louise DeFeo, and four minors, two girls Dawn DeFeo and Allison DeFeo, and two boys John DeFeo and Marc DeFeo were murdered with a rifle while they slept; later Ronald, “Butch” as he was known, was found and arrested, being sentenced to life imprisonment.
Years later, in 1976, after several reports of paranormal activity at the Defeo home, the Warrens went to an investigation, where they took pictures with an infrared camera and upon reviewing them, they realized that they had captured John DeFeo, the 9-year-old boy who had been murdered by his brother years before.
To this day, the Amityville case remains a mystery, those who have had the misfortune to come across the house report strange vibes, and Ronald DeFeo Jr. passed away in 2021 after spending more than 40 years in prison.
