J.K. Rowling Prefers Going to Jail Rather Than Recognizing the Transgender Community

J.K Rowling has once again been in the eye of controversy and once again due to a series of statements against the trans community and their rights. It is no surprise that the author of Harry Potter is getting backlash for refusing to recognize this community; however, the situation has gone too far.

The above has earned the British writer strong accusations that accuse her of being a radical feminist (TERF) and having a transphobic and conservative attitude. But it would seem that all of the above does not worry her, because, in recent days, Rowling has returned to lash out through her social networks against the recognition of trans people.

Via X, formerly Twitter, Rowling shared an image that read “Repeat after us: Trans women are women,” accompanied by the word “No.” In that publication, a user replied “Vote Labour, get a two-year sentence!,” referring to the fact that, in recent days, the Labour Party in the UK proposed to establish a law that will punish for hate crimes those who refuse to use the correct pronouns for people.

To which J.K. Rowling replied sharply: “I will gladly serve two years if the alternative is to speak forcibly and deny the reality and importance of s3x. Let the court case come, I say. It will be more fun than any red carpet I’ve ever been on.”

The comment immediately split the opinion of netizens, between those who support the writer’s stance and those who think that her hating comments infringe on people’s rights.

What Is J.K. Rowling’s Stance on the Trans Community?

J.K Rowling has made it clear on several occasions in the past that she believes that women’s rights are threatened by trans activism. In addition, the writer has indicated she is against people obtaining gender reassignment certificates without having undergone reassignment surgeries or hormone therapy.

And despite having received multiple threats through social networks, the British writer has insisted on standing firm in her position, even if the price is losing followers and people who recognize her works.
