King Charles III has expressed great pride in his daughter-in-law, Kate Middleton, after the Princess of Wales revealed she has cancer. The news, announced this Friday by Kate in an emotional video, has shocked the world.
Kate Middleton confirms she has cancer
Charles III said he was “very proud of Kate for her bravery in speaking out as she did.” The Princess of Wales released a video message today revealing that tests after her major abdominal surgery had indicated the presence of cancer, and she was now undergoing “preventive chemotherapy.”
A spokesperson for the King later said His Majesty “has remained in close contact with his beloved daughter-in-law over the past few weeks.” The king and queen “will continue to offer their love and support to the entire family during this difficult time.” Currently, Charles III is also receiving treatment for cancer.
What about Kate Middleton?
In the video, Kate Middleton said she is in the early stages of cancer treatment. The wife of Prince William mentioned that the news was a “huge shock” and that her family has been through “incredibly tough months.”
Kate, 42, admitted it was a very challenging situation to explain everything to her children George, Charlotte, and Louis to reassure them that everything will be okay. “Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and security.”
Kate Middleton noted that her major abdominal surgery in January was successful, but subsequent tests found cancer present. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak says Kate has shown “tremendous courage” and has the “love and support of the whole country.”
