He is 'kenough': ryan gosling's show-stopping performance at the 2024 oscars

The 2024 Oscars were filled with moments that will go down in history, but undoubtedly, Ryan Gosling’s performance of ‘I’m Just Ken’ stole the night. Despite Barbie failing to take home any of her nominations, Gosling’s rendition somehow did justice to Greta Gerwig’s film by giving it, even if just for a few minutes, the spotlight at the awards ceremony. The actor showcased his immense talent on stage, getting the entire audience at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles and at home to dance and sing along to what we believe is one of the best songs from the movie.

How Was Ryan Gosling’s Performance at the 2024 Oscars?

Ryan Gosling had the honor of closing the performances at the 2024 Oscars by singing the theme ‘I’m Just Ken,’ and undoubtedly, the wait was well worth it as the actor shone brightly. The show began with Ryan seated among the audience, right behind Margot Robbie, and giving us many laughs as he fully immersed himself in the role of Ken once again.

To everyone’s surprise, the full presentation of ‘I’m Just Ken’ featured over 65 dancers, including his fellow Kens and even Slash from Guns and Roses, who added the rock touch we needed with a guitar solo. Another highlight was Ryan treating us to a wonderful ‘La La Land’ moment, as during a part of the song, he decided to step off the stage to allow the audience to sing along with him. This opportunity not only got Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie singing but also Emma Stone.
