Sean “Diddy” Combs’ legal troubles are making headlines once again, and now, a major controversy over key video evidence could change everything. His lawyers claim that CNN may have destroyed a crucial hotel surveillance video—something the network strongly denies. But what’s really going on?

What’s the Video and Why Is It Important on Diddy’s Case?

The controversy centers around a 2016 hotel surveillance video allegedly showing Diddy assaulting his then-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura. The footage, which was obtained and aired by CNN in 2024, quickly became a viral moment, sparking widespread outrage.

However, the rapper’s legal team now claims that the video was tampered with before it was broadcast. They allege that CNN sped up the footage, covered timestamps, and ultimately destroyed the original copy—making it impossible to verify its authenticity.

According to new documents filed by Diddy’s lawyers claim CNN destroyed the only known copy of the 2016 video in which Diddy is seen beating Cassie in the hallway of an L.A. hotel.

Did CNN Destroy the Video? The Truth Behind the Rumors

Despite Diddy’s legal team pushing this claim, CNN has denied any wrongdoing. The network insists that it never altered or destroyed the footage and that the original copy remains with its source.

Still, the accusations have fueled speculation, with some of the rapper’s supporters suggesting that the evidence could have been manipulated to shape public opinion before his trial.

Beyond the video controversy, Diddy is facing serious federal charges, including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. Prosecutors claim that over decades, he ran a criminal enterprise involving coercion, forced labor, and abuse.

Some allegations suggest he orchestrated events where individuals were pressured into participating in illegal activities.

The rapper has pleaded not guilty to all charges and remains in custody after being denied bail multiple times. His trial is set to begin on May 5, 2025, in New York, where the prosecution is expected to present significant evidence, including the controversial video.

While the truth about the footage is still being debated, one thing is certain—Diddy’s legal battle is far from over, and this case will continue to unfold in the public eye.
