Britney Spears, our beloved Princess of Pop, is finally breaking her silence on her life after being silenced all her life. This is happening in the form of a bombshell memoir that is about to hit the shelves of all bookstores. The Woman in Me will finally give Britney her voice back and she’s willing to talk about e-ve-ry-thing!
Even days before its release, Britney’s dark and secret stories are starting to come out. One of the most shocking revelations is the fact that she got pregnant with ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake‘s baby. Sadly, and willing to please him, Britney had an abortion.
While we were processing the news, hardcore fans immediately realized that this experience, which Britney deemed as “one of the most agonizing things I have ever experienced in my life,” was already dealt with in one of her classic songs.

Britney Spoke about the Traumatic Experience in this Classic Song
In 2003, one year after her breakup with Timberlake, Britney Spears released “Everything,” a song we all assumed was about missing Justin. Now, listening to it with all this new information, it doesn’t sound like Justin was the protagonist of her sorrow, but that baby she wanted, and he didn’t.
In the song, Britney sings: “And every time I see you in my dreams I see your face; it’s haunting me, I guess I need you, baby.” One would think, as we did for two decades, that she meant Justin or at least a past love… But even if we pay attention to the video, the relationship with the toxic man (could this also be a hint about their relationship?) doesn’t seem to be the main cause of her heartbreak.
Later on, she says: “I make-believe that you are here; it’s the only way that I see clear. What have I done? You seem to move on easy.” Fans are certain that she’s regretting losing her baby and that Justin didn’t seem to be troubled by that loss.

If that wasn’t a clear hint about it, this phrase seems to circle it all: “Please forgive me. My weakness caused you pain, and this song’s my sorry.” It seems that the song is all about Britney being sorry about agreeing to the abortion and she wants her baby’s forgiveness.
However, the most heartbreaking part is that after all, she’s also wanting to move on and try to forget it even existed. And that could be interpreted from this line: “At night I pray that soon your face will fade away.”
Whether fans’ theory about this song is right (which seems very likely), it’s clear that Britney has been suffering for decades and that nobody blinked an eye to be empathic with her. We hope this book served as a way to vent and allow her to move on from all that pain.
