When you love traveling and running, every vacation turns into a “runcation”, and that is my case. Whether traveling for pleasure or work, I always find the time to run in the cities I go to, not only as a way to get some exercise, but also as an incredible way to get to know the place. So, yes, one of the things I always take with me when I travel is my running shoes.
With my shoes, I’ve run a few miles in the oh-so-green Stanley Park in Vancouver, Canada; the circuit surrounding the Tokyo Imperial Palace in Japan; and the 26.2 miles along the main neighborhoods in the Chicago Marathon. And after a few years and a few thousand miles of running, these are my top three running shoes for women.

OMG! These sneakers are one of the best I’ve ever had. I bought them for three reasons: the beautiful design (I got them in a light shade of pink), a friend’s recommendation, and all the hype surrounding them, saying that it was like walking on clouds.
I was a little bit skeptical, but the first time I ran in them I felt like I was flying because they are very light. That feeling of walking on clouds is real! Every step you take in them, you feel like there is an extra impulse of energy from the cushioned sole. I’ve tried them on the treadmill and the street, and they are just amazing.
Asics Nimbus
@triatlonchannelThese old classics are one of the best running shoes when training hard for a long-distance race like a marathon. I’ve bought a pair of these every year for the last four years, and they are like an old, loyal friend who will always be there for you. They are designed for neutral runners, and the gel in the soles gives you enough support to run smoothly. However, these are not as light as other models from Asics, like the Kayano, so don’t expect to fly with them.

They are light, they are comfy, they are beautiful, and they are cheap. Well, they are Japanese, and that sums up everything I’ve said before. I first bought these after a friend’s suggestion and a really good offer. They are one of the best to run long distances, even marathons. You’ll feel how the motion of the sole goes along with the movement of the feet, plus they also have very good support that you can try either on the street or on trail.

Remember that before you buy a pair of running shoes you should have a pronation test, so you know how your feet roll when running. That way you’ll know if you need a neutral variation, or if you fall to the inside or the outside of your feet and need special cushioning in your sneakers. And also, when starting a new exercise regime, listen to your body and look for professional guidance to get better results.
