In one of the many controversial statements she's done, Carolina Herrera once claimed that women over 40 should't have long hair.

Carolina Herrera is one of the most important designers in the fashion world. For many, she’s seen as an elegant and refined woman who is a style inspiration for women and men all over the planet. She is one of the most followed fashion experts, admired and distinguished for her good taste; but at the same time, one of the most controversial with her style statements.

For instance, she assures that after a certain age, you can’t wear some clothes like miniskirts, bikinis, and even jeans if you’re over 30! Carolina Herrera has even called current fashion ‘the worst’ especially talking about influencers. “The worst thing is women who go out almost naked. Influencers are not the style of fashion, they are the style of money,” she said.

But the designer hasn’t just picked on clothing recommendations, she’s also picked on hair. She claims that only classless women wear their hair long after the age of 40. Shoulder-length or longer hair looks bad on women over 40, she assures. But instantly, women like Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Aniston, or even Salma Hayek come to mind, who look spectacular with their long, sleek manes. Even the aforementioned women are over 50, and don’t they look gorgeous?

Carolina Herrera says she does not approve of such behavior and that women over 40 should behave modestly without showing too much. Well, I don’t know if I’m a fashion expert or not, but honestly, my mom, who is 50 years old, has the most beautiful hair I know and looks gorgeous in a miniskirt.

What do you think, do you think Carolina Herrera’s comments are out of line, or do you agree with her?
