That’s right, we can’t believe it either, but despite of what former President stands for in this subject, Melania Trump made a clear statement in her new memoir “Melania” about he support on women’s abortion rights.
Melania Trump Came Out of the Closet as an Abortion Rights Supporter
“Why should anyone other than the woman herself have the power to determine what she does with her own body? A woman’s fundamental right of individual liberty, to her own life, grants her the authority to terminate her pregnancy if she wishes,” Melania Trump writes in her upcoming memoir.
And well, despite everything, she also has the right to have her own thoughts even if they are (very) different from Donald Trump‘s.
In her book she also mentions that the decision to terminate a pregnancy is something that only the pregnant woman and her doctor can discuss and she called this “the common-sense approach.”
Although the decision to make these statements may seem ill-considered and rather hasty, one could think exactly the opposite, considering that the elections are only a month away, even though we still do not fully understand the reason for making these statements.
“It is imperative to guarantee that women have autonomy in deciding their preference of having children, based on their own convictions, free from any intervention or pressure from the government,” Melania Trump wrote in the memoir set for release next week.
Melania also mentioned that all her adult life she has been in favor of abortion.
“Restricting a woman’s right to choose whether to terminate an unwanted pregnancy is the same as denying her control over her own body. I have carried this belief with me throughout my entire adult life,” she said.
Through the X platform, Melania Trump shared a video in which she affirmed and acknowledged her thoughts and beliefs regarding the issue of abortion rights.
“Individual freedom is a fundamental principle that I safeguard. Without a doubt, there is no room for compromise when it comes to this essential right that all women possess from birth: individual freedom. What does ‘my body, my choice’ really mean?” she said in the video.
