In a July 20 TikTok, the 1000-Lb. Sisters star stunned fans by sharing a fresh set of selfies that left no doubt: the glow-up is real. Wearing a black, body-hugging shapewear look that highlighted her dramatic transformation, the 38-year-old looked confident, radiant, and completely in her element. One shot showed her flashing a peace sign in jeans and a yellow tank. Another captured her beaming, visibly proud of how far she’s come.
She paired the photos with a cheeky audio that doubled as a mic-drop moment to every doubter who’s questioned her journey:

Tammy Slaton Lost 500 Pounds—And a Whole New Chapter Begins
Tammy’s journey has played out publicly since 2020, when 1000-Lb. Sisters first aired. Since then, viewers have watched her undergo bariatric surgery, experience profound loss—including the heartbreaking death of her husband Caleb Willingham—and face intense setbacks in her quest to qualify for skin removal surgery.

But in early 2025, she finally got the green light.
“After six years and losing over 500 pounds, I was finally approved for surgery,” she told People. “I was just overwhelmed with excitement. I worked really hard for this, and now it’s here.”
That “here” wasn’t easy to reach. On January 18, she underwent an eight-hour skin removal surgery in Pittsburgh with Dr. J. Peter Rubin. The procedure removed more than 15 pounds of excess skin from her chin, arms, and lower stomach.
“I was even more nervous about the skin removal than I was for the sleeve,” she admitted. “They’re actually cutting the whole belly!”
But she surprised her doctors with a faster-than-expected recovery—and returned home four days early. In the 1000-Lb. Sisters season finale, her siblings were stunned at her transformation.
“She looks great,” Misty said. “She’s lost 500 pounds—that’s a couple people, not just one!”

This Is What Joy Looks Like
Tammy isn’t just surviving—she’s celebrating. From honoring her late husband to announcing her engagement to fiancée Andrea Dalton, she’s embracing her second chance at life and love.
“So much has changed about me over the years,” she wrote in a July 1 TikTok. “I couldn’t be more thankful and blessed… This is my thank you for helping me keep going.”
