This crazy theory claims all of Pixar’s universe happens in a post-apocalyptic world

Is well-known by every film enthusiast, that the creators at Pixar use to hide easter-eggs in their movies, but there are some that believe that this goes far beyond making mere references to their own films.

A theory, that came to light in 2013 and has been gaining popularity once again thanks to TikTok, claims that all Pixar movies are actually related and all of them happen in a post-apocalyptical universe in which humankind lost its battle against pollution and machines. Crazy, right?

The theory was published by Jon Negroni, who not only rearranged all of the movies release timelines but also claims that the whole story is divided into the films: the first badge focuses on intelligent animals, the second one is about films with complex and pensive machines and the third one refers to a post-apocalyptic world ruled by insects and mutant animals. Scary.

For you to get a better picture of this theory, we dug into each of Pixar’s films and Negroni’s timeline that begins with Brave.

Brave

Situated around the 14 or 15th century, this movie is the beginning of the whole theory. According to Negroni, this film is when we first see animals and inanimate objects behave like humans thanks to magic.

To make everything more suspicious –and a point we’ll touch later—the magic was used by a with who, mysteriously, vanishes through wooden doors. Remember this key element.

The Incredibles

Next in Negroni’s timeline is The Incredibles, which is situated between the 1950s and 1960s. During this time, magically made possible the existence of superheroes.

However, the envy of Buddy, a wannabe superhero, made him create A.I bots and Zero Point Energy (a technology based on electromagnetic energy that exists in a vacuum).

According to Negroni, this is the pivotal moment because is the first time that we see machines eradicating their only threat, superheroes.

Toy Story 1 and 2

Years go by and toys start to absorb the Zero Point Energy, which gives them life. Because they become sentient and pensive objects, they learn that human love is an energy source with which they thrive with. However, they also discover the dangers if they become isolated from humans.

It is in Toy Story 2 when we see that toys began to question their purpose in life and start growing resentment towards humans for abandoning them.

Finding Nemo

But toys are not the only ones that have become aware of the human impact. Animals too, mainly because people are destroying their natural habitat and experimenting with them.

This is why Dory is so forgetful because she was a victim of humans; they discover that humans are polluting the oceans and caging them.

Ratatouille

It is in this film when we see that some animals have fully adopted human characteristics, like Remy. Moreover, he is using his abilities to control Linguini.

Toy Story 3

It’s now 2010 and we’re back to toys. We see how Lotso and other toys began to feel more and more resentful towards humans because they use and discard toys like they are nothing. According to Negroni, here’s when we see that machines and objects are ready to take over.

Up

A year later appears /BnL, a company that is forcing Carl to sell his house. Remember this company because it is the start of the dark story of this corporation that polluted and wiped out life in the distant future.

It is also in Up when we see how humans have discovered that animals can communicate with animals and there are armies of animals willing to fight against humans.

Cars

Fast forward to the year 2100, or at least that is what Negroni assures. By now, animals have rose up against humans to stop pollution, but machines saved them and won the war. Because of this, /BnL sends the remaining humans to space while machines were left on Earth.

Wall-E

Because of oil usage, Earth becomes uninhabitable and BnL is the one to blame. But, another fast forward to the year 2800 and we have Wall-E, the only machine left on Earth.

Wall-E is fascinated with human culture and he, along with Eve (in a weird reference to Biblical passages) is determined to save the human race and have a new beginning on Earth.

If you have seen the movie, surely you remember that this cute little robot had a shoe with the last plant on Earth. Well, this becomes important in the next movie.

Earth has become uninhabitable for hundreds of years due to BnL.

A Bug’s Life

It is now the year 2898 or 3000 and the tree that appears to be the home of all the insects in A bug’s life, according to Negroni, is the very same plant Wall-E had on the shoe.

In this new world, bugs are sturdier as a result of evolution and mutated genes and because humans are scarce, they do not have to worry about them as much. Later in the distant future animals start evolving into the dominant species.

Monsters University and Inc.

Thousands of years go by and now those animals in A bug’s life have changed due to radiation caused by BnL and have evolved into monsters. It is the year 4500 or 5000 and humans are a thing of the past, are considered toxic and from another dimension.

It is here when both monsters and machines realize that getting rid of humans was a mistake because they were a source of energy. That is why machines develop a technology that lets monsters time travel through doors.

Boo, the main character in all of this

Sfuiut2brzfwbk7qhs7cplq2sq - this crazy theory claims all of pixar’s universe happens in a post-apocalyptic world

Remember when we told you to pay attention to the witch on Brave? Well, it turns out that according to this theory, Boo has been a time traveler using doors to search for Sulley in different periods and dimensions.

Why Negroni is so sure? If you take a closer look at the witch’s table in Brave, you can see a Sulley and a pizza truck carving in wood.

According to the theory, although Boo knows how to time travel, she hasn’t figured out how to determine a specific period, therefore she is the one planting all of the easter eggs throughout all the Pixar movies because she has been accidentally going through different time periods. Crazy, right!

Though this is just a theory and Pixar hasn’t addressed it, when you look at all the evidence it does not seem so far-fetched. You can read more about the theory and see more examples here.
