Was Britney Spears’ Song ‘Lucky’ A Cry For Help We All Ignored?

1624601490549 britney spears lucky song story biography 4 - was britney spears’ song ‘lucky’ a cry for help we all ignored?Britney Spears’s latest statement in court has brought much indignation after she asked the judge to put an end to the abusive custody that her father has had of her life for the past 13 years.

The singer spoke before the Supreme Court judge and asked to suspend her father, Jamie Spears, as guardian of her estate and her life. She claimed she has lived all kinds of abuses.

For over 20 minutes, Britney gave strong statements of what she has been through these past years and how it’s been like to be without any control over her life whatsoever.

“I told the world that I’m happy and I’m fine, but it’s a lie. I am traumatized. I’m not happy, I can’t sleep. I’m so angry, it’s insanity.”

Spears confessed that she was forced to tour in 2018 and perform in Las Vegas during a residency, and when she made it known that she wanted to take a break, she was prescribed lithium against her will.

“It’s a strong drug. You can damage yourself mentally if you take it for more than 5 months. I felt drunk, I couldn’t even have a conversation with my mom or dad about anything. They had me with six different nurses.”

The singer criticized her family, especially her dad, who she claims did nothing to help her: “My family didn’t do a damn thing. Everything I had to do, he was the one who approved everything. My whole family didn’t do anything.”

The pop star confessed she wants to start a family with her boyfriend, Sam Asghari, but they won’t let her:

“I want to be able to get married and have a baby. They told me I couldn’t get married. I have an IUD in me, but this so-called team won’t let me go to the doctor to have it removed because they don’t want me to have any more children. This guardianship is doing me much more harm than good.”

Britney Spears described her court-ordered conservatorship as “abusive” and said she just wants her life back:

“I wish I could share my story with the world. I want to be heard. Having been made to keep this in for so long, it’s not good for my heart. I’m worried that I’m not allowed to be heard. I have a right to use my voice. My lawyer says I can’t let the public know what was done to me… I should be able to not be in guardianship. The laws need to change. Ma’am, I have worked since I was 17 years old. I can’t go anywhere unless I meet someone every week in an office. I really think this guardianship is abusive, but ma’am, there are a thousand guardianships that are also abusive. I want to end the guardianship.”

After these sad and desperate statements from Britney, many remembered the song ‘Lucky’ from the album Oops! I Did It Again. The song tells a story about fame and loneliness, which made us realize that fame is not what we think it is.

What is ‘Lucky’ about?

The song tells the story of a young girl named Lucky who becomes a superstar and has a hard time dealing with the consequences of her fame. Between the paparazzi harassment and the loneliness, she endures tremendous pain despite all the glamour she had in her life. That’s why many people are claiming that Britney Spears was telling her own story through ‘Lucky’.

Did Britney Spears write Lucky?

Although the “Princess of Pop” did participate in the co-authorship of several of her songs, including ‘Me Against the Music’ and ‘Every time,’ she wasn’t involved in the writing of ‘Lucky.’ The song was written by Max Martin, Rami Yacoub, and Alexander Kronlund.

‘Lucky’ was a huge success in Britney Spears’s career. The song reached number 23 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number nine on the Top 40 Mainstream chart. It also achieved worldwide success, and the video in which she told the story of the sad woman always remained at the top of the charts.

Now, after all this time, we realize that maybe Lucky was Britney and that every time she sang that song it was a cry for help for what she was going through nobody really listened to it.
