A teenager lost his life after being attacked by a shark in Australia. The tragic incident occurred on the Yorke Peninsula, one of the most popular places for tourism and surfing in that country.
Authorities reported that they received a report of a person who had been “seriously injured” near Ethel Beach and responded to the emergency call on the southwest tip of the peninsula at 1:30 p.m. The age of the victim has not yet been revealed, although several media outlets speculate that she was only 14 years old.
Police later confirmed that the teenager died in the attack and mentioned that a report was being prepared for the coroner. “Unfortunately, the body of a teenager was recovered from the water,” was part of the first official statement.
What Happened in the Shark Attack?
Ethel Beach is located in the Dhilba Guuranda-Innes National Park, and the nearest town is Marion Bay. “I’ve seen quite a few sharks here over 22 years, but this is the first fatal attack we’ve had around here. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. Not even being on the same beach at the same time. The people will be in mourning. “I think it’s very sad, very tragic, and a little shocking,” said one of the witnesses.
