Henry Cavill is considered by millions of people to be one of the most handsome men in the world. However, although today he has stolen everyone’s heart with his beauty, that was not always the case, because when the actor was little he was a victim of bullying for being overweight.
Believe it or not, between childhood and adolescence, as can happen to anyone, Henry gained a few extra pounds, a fact that made him the target of bullying by some of his classmates.
Henry Cavill’s Amazing Transformation
The actor revealed in an interview with the BBC that many children even called him nasty and hurtful names.
“Fat Cavill was the actual name. But you know what? I was fat. And my name was still Cavill then. So, it was a fairly fitting nickname.”
The teasing contributed to Henry adopting an introverted and shy personality, something he eventually overcame by working his body and focusing on acting.
However, the path to sculpting the muscular physique that he possesses today was not easy, since during the process he was even rejected for big roles due to his weight.
Henry Cavill told Men’s Health US that on one occasion, when he auditioned to play James Bond, director Martin Campbell turned him down because he looked “a little chubby.”

This event ended up marking his life forever, so from that moment on Henry decided to commit to his exercise routine and maintain a diet in order to build the body he had always dreamed of.

“I’m representing important characters here. I don’t want to be a dumpy Geralt or a fat Superman. I know what it feels like to go from out of shape to in shape, and [afterward] I’ll look at myself like, ‘Man, well done.’ It’s not like I’m a golden god—I’m just proud of what I achieved. And then you can take your clothes off in front of your significant other, and they’re like, ‘Goddamn, you look great!’ Like, ‘Yes! I’m making other people happy’ he added.
