How These Celebrities Would Look Like if They Were Not Rich (Artificial Intelligence)

The creation of images with Artificial Intelligence is becoming more and more popular. There’s no doubt that the day will come when even movies can be made just by imagining possible realities and writing some text. On this occasion, a curious Internet user wondered how certain celebrities would look like if they lived in poverty and Artificial Intelligence threw him some very questionable results.

Thus, an Instagram user named @arteficialismo shared a large series of images generated with Artificial Intelligence (AI) in which we see Hollywood celebrities, athletes, politicians, and even works of art in their version of what they had developed in extreme poverty.

The art collection is titled Celebrities Who Lost Everything and Now Live in a Brazilian Favela. The favelas are the neighborhoods of the South American country known for their low economic levels, so, unfortunately, they have become a stereotype and so they were associated with these images. It is important to emphasize that the images are not “imagined” by the AI bots, but are created from what a user writes that they want to get. For example, surely the creator of this series put “celebrities” “poverty” and “favela,” so the tool associated poverty directly with favelas.

Although fascinating how AI can create these sorts of high-quality images, the intent of the series is quite questionable, since more than raising awareness of the stupid class differences between most celebrities and reality, they only end up romanticizing poverty in a tasteless way.
