How angels would look like according to the Bible’s descriptions

It is said that some of the ideas with which religion has grown over time, we’re actually built by human beings. Science, to a certain extent, can explain life and much of what surrounds us, but there is still a space in which logic is lost and little by little beliefs creep in. For example, the physical appearance of some religious figures such as angels.

The existence of angels is something that scientifically has no explanation. Their appearance in human life dates back to Zoroastrianism in 1300 BC, one of the oldest religions in the world. This Iranian religion spoke of “wise men,” intelligent beings endowed with different powers. From this idea came other figures such as angels and archangels, which are already mentioned in the Old Testament of the Bible.

What Are Angels Like According to the Bible?

There have been many representations of angels throughout history, but according to the Bible, these entities are very different from what we believe. According to the scriptures Ezekiel I: 4-14, Isaiah VI: 2-8, and Revelation IV: 8, we find the seraphim and cherubim, just two of the nine categories of angels that exist.

Following the curious origin of angels and their representation, artist Jonas Pfeiffer created a 3D animation of what angels would look like from the characteristics marked in the scriptures. The result was an image that is far from what we know today as angels and could certainly be more fitting as part of a fantastic world.

Description of Angels in the Bible

“Above him stood the seraphim. Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.” (Isaiah 6:2)

“Each had four faces, and each of them had four wings. 7Their legs were straight, and the soles of their feet were like the sole of a calf’s foot. And they sparkled like burnished bronze. 8Under their wings on their four sides they had human hands. And the four had their faces and their wings thus: 9their wings touched one another. Each one of them went straight forward, without turning as they went. 10As for the likeness of their faces, each had a human face. The four had the face of a lion on the right side, the four had the face of an ox on the left side, and the four had the face of an eagle. 11Such were their faces. And their wings were spread out above. Each creature had two wings, each of which touched the wing of another, while two covered their bodies.” (Ezequiel 1:6)
