When you watch your favorite erotic film, tear your eyes away from the bodies and focus on the background. What do you see? Maybe, translucent curtains that billow in the breeze, soft pastel colors on the walls, and sumptous bedsheets. The space, in general, looks very clean, does it not?
Imagine the same scenes in a messy, dirty, and dark place. Surely, things would be very different and the story might not even be the same.
If you want order in your life, you need order in your surroundings. Throwing away old clothes, papers, and useless memorabilia sounds reasonable, since in a figurative sense you are opening the door to new things and letting go of the old.
It is time for you to reconsider the reasons why your sex life is not so great, and your personal space might be a contributing factor.

Our surroundings impact our well being and our productivity far more than we think.
Many successful people base their lives on a Chinese philosophical system called Feng Shui. It consists of the conscious and harmonious occupation of a space to create positive energy. There is a special section dedicated to sexuality.
According to Feng Shui master, Sallie Tsi Sien, these are the points you have to bear in mind when decorating your bedroom:
The exterior is just as important the interior
Double check that there are building corners pointing at your window. If so, use earthy colored curtains to counter negative energies.

The bed is an empty space
There shouldn’t be beams or piping on top of your bed, if so, cover them with a translucent fabric that can work as a subtle decoration. Never store things underneath the bed and avoid fans or lamps that have pointed edges and hang from above. The headboard should preferably be made of wood and never of metal or iron.
Mirrors should not face the bed
You shouldn’t have mirrors that reflect the bed, so goodbye voyeurs. They can be hung in other parts of the bedroom or in another room altogether.

Choose warm colors
Warm colors create a sense of wellbeing. You can paint the feature wall orange or red. Beige can be used across the whole room and the bed linen can be of adventurous colors. Feng Shui recommends decorating in pairs, for example, two bedside tables.
Simplicity above all things
Store your CD or photograph collections and opt for simplicity. If you have an ordered closet then you will be more clear headed. Avoid having televisions, computers, or mobiles in your room.

The bedroom is a refuge where we spend a lot of our time there, which is why it is important to make that space comfortable and welcoming. It is the room where you can be at peace either alone or in the company of someone special.
