The entertainment industry often witnesses controversies, and one of the most recent ones involves, once again, Ashton Kutcher. And if there is one thing we should know, it is that the Internet never forgets, nor forgives; so an old video, recorded in 2003, in which Kutcher issues a painful and sexist comment about Hilary Duff, who at the time was a famous teen star, has recently come to light.
The video is a clip taken from one of the episodes of the show Punk’d, hosted by Kutcher when he was 25 years old, and Duff was only 15 years old.
It should be noted that the painful episode reappears just when the actor is in the midst of controversy for writing a series of letters, along with his wife, Mila Kunis, supporting Danny Masterson, before he was sentenced to 30 years for rape.

What Did Aston Kutcher Say About Hilary Duff?
Ashton Kutcher’s comment originated during an interview in which he was talking about young rising stars. In an unfortunate and sexist tone, he referenced Hilary Duff and other young actresses as if he was anxiously awaiting his coming of age to sleep with them.
“Hilary Duff stars in Lizzie McGuire, she also put out an album. She’s going to be in a movie called ‘Cheaper by the Dozen,’ and she’s one of the girls we’re all waiting for her to turn 18, along with the Olsen twins,” the actor said. These words have generated an outpouring of criticism against Kutcher and hundreds of messages of support for Hilary Duff.
What Could Be the Consequences?
Ashton Kutcher’s comment has generated a debate about the objectification of young stars in the entertainment industry. Media pressure and criticism could negatively affect Kutcher’s public image and, consequently, his career.
Ashton’s comment brings back to the table the importance and urgency of promoting gender equality and respect within the entertainment industry.
