Cillian Murphy and Margot Robbie made the dream of many Barbenheimer fans come true and the result was beautiful. Variety magazine brought together several actors who stood out in 2023 and of course, the protagonists of Barbie and Oppenheimer had to be there. However, we did not imagine that they would be brought together and we can only say THANK YOU because although memes, products, and even the announcement of the movie were unleashed due to this trend, they were finally face to face.
In the photo, the celebrities appear in the same room and each one dressed very ad hoc to their character, with which they won the applause of the experts and all their fans. Without a doubt, the magazine gave us the most anticipated moment of this year and just before it ended…

Before this happened (yes, we are crying) they asked Cillian Murphy, who plays Oppenheimer, the so-called ‘father of the atomic bomb’, if he would be interested in being Ken in the event of a second Barbie movie. The actor smiled and replied “Of course”: “Let’s read the script and have a chat. I can’t wait to see the movie. “I think it’s great for cinema that these two great films are released in the summer.”
What Is Barbenheimer?
The Barbenheimer phenomenon arose because these films shared a release date and they were two films with great productions and the most anticipated. There is a theory that suggests that this splicing was the result of “revenge” against Christopher Nola, Oppenheimer’s director. Everything would have happened due to a discontent that director Christopher Nolan had with Warner Bros. when ‘Tenet’ was released in 2020.
It turns out that Nolan would have asked the production company for his film to be projected on most IMAX screens, but they did not heed his request.
The above would have greatly upset the filmmaker who, for his next project, chose to work with Universal Studios, who would have accepted each of his conditions. To give you an idea: Oppenheimer cost 200 million dollars and the filmmaker demanded that it be in theaters for at least 15 weeks.

To please the director, Universal rented the IMAX theaters for three weeks to enjoy Nolan’s big bet to the fullest. The director’s whims would be, to a certain extent, like a betrayal for Warner, who had worked with him for many years, so when he found out that Oppenheimer was “cooking”, he adjusted the release date so that it was the same day (20 July 2023).
