On social media, Emma Heming, the actor’s wife, shared the details of this story that the little girl had told her. “I have to tell you this story, and I’m going to try to do it without crying because when Evelyn told me this story, I was an absolute puddle,” Emma said.
One day Evelyn approached her to tell her that people with dementia, like her dad, tend to become extremely dehydrated. These words surprised Heming, and she asked her daughter where she got the information.
“She said, ‘Well, I was at school the other day, I had some free time, and I was looking at fun facts about dementia (…) Now it’s not fun, but it’s kind of funny. And she really is her father’s daughter because these two love some random facts,” his daughter explained.
Emma was touched by this gesture that her 9-year-old daughter had made to Bruce Willis, which shows the great love she has for her father. Finally, the celebrity’s wife told her little girl that everything will be fine with him because, between the two of them, they will make sure that she will never lack a bottle of water in her hand.
“So I told her: (…) Thank you for letting me know (…) ‘The most loving and compassionate thing you can do is to be curious and educate yourself about your father’s illness,” she said.
A few months ago, the actor was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, a condition for which there is no treatment. This disorder has caused the Die Hard star to present physical, psychological, and verbal affectations.
Last year, the celebrity’s family feared for his life, since his health began to worsen, to the point of bringing forward the Christmas celebration. He is currently stable, but his health has been deteriorating, to the point that his appearance shows practically another man.
