Bruce Willis‘ health has been worsening considerably since he was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia in early 2023. This condition has caused affectations on his ability to communicate, which was confirmed by his friend and Moonlighting creator Glenn Gordon Caron.
In a recent interview for The Post, the filmmaker shared more details of the 68-year-old Pulp Fiction actor’s health.

How Is Bruce Willis’ Health?
Caron said that he tries to stay in touch with him and his wife Emma Heming Willis to “stay in his life” because he is a person he loves, and although every time he visits him, he confessed, he has the feeling that he recognizes him between one and three minutes, it is a huge satisfaction to see him.
“I’m not always that good, but I try, and I talk to him and his wife and I have a casual relationship with his three older children (…) I’ve tried very hard to stay in his life.” He also commented that since he has known Bruce Willis, he stands out as someone with a love of life and great joy.
“What makes (his illness) so mind-blowing is if you have ever spent time with Bruce Willis, there is no one who has more joie de vivre than him (…) He loved life and… he just loved waking up every morning and trying to live life to the fullest.”
Although the filmmaker assures that the celebrity “is still the same person,” due to his illness, it is as if he is “seeing life through a screen door.” In addition, he detailed that dementia has generated in Bruce Willis a drastic decrease in speech, to the point that “now he doesn’t read”, but, he emphasized “he is still Bruce. When you’re with him, you know he’s Bruce, and you’re grateful he’s there,” he noted, “but the joie de vivre is gone.”

Bruce Willis Knew About Moonlighting
Glenn Gordon Caron recalled with great nostalgia, that before the actor’s health deteriorated considerably, he was able to tell him that Moonlighting would be airing on Hulu. “I know he’s very happy that the show is available to people, although he can’t tell me (…) When I spent time with him, we talked about it, and I know he’s excited.”
Recall that the actor was part of the Caron series, giving life to detective David Addison, so he pointed out to the director of this 1985 project, that this achievement would mean a lot to Willis.
“The process (to bring ‘Moonlighting’ to Hulu) has taken quite some time, and Bruce’s illness is a progressive disease, so I was able to communicate with him, before the disease made him as uncommunicative as he is now, about the hope of getting the show back in front of people.”
