“My heart is broken today, I can’t believe it. Life can change in the blink of an eye, so cherish what you have,” the actress shared in an Instagram post. Minutes later, she posted a follow-up message detailing that her two kittens were safe. “Thank you, from the bottom of my heart to all the firefighters and people who came to help,” she said.
According to People magazine, it’s unclear who was in Cara’s house during her absence, but the Fire Department confirms that one person suffered minor smoke inhalation. The 31-year-old celebrity shared a video taken near her property, showing fire trucks responding to the emergency. According to the fire department, the fire consumed a room at the rear of the house and “turned into a deep-seated attic fire.”
