For many, Elvis Presley is one of the biggest music legends in history; a true vanguardist that popularized rock and blues to global lengths. However, despite his undeniable talent and appeal, for many more, Elvis wasn’t more than a perverse man with a devious taste and a man, a racist, and one of the most outrageous cases of cultural appropriation.

Elvis’ controversial life has gotten a lot of attention in the past years in Hollywood. Last year, Baz Luhrmann paid homage to the ‘King of Rock’ in his movie Elvis and gave us an insight into the tormented life of the legendary musician. This year, we’ll get a different perspective of the story through Sofia Coppola’s biopic Priscilla, Elvis’s first wife.

Elvis Presley’s Taste For Young Women

This last movie promises to focus on Priscilla Presley’s life as a very young girl falling for the icon; something that has sparked outrage since Elvis was never pointed out for his perverted taste of minor girls. Priscilla was only 14 years old when she started dating 24-year-old Elvis. But it seems that Priscilla wasn’t the only one.

According to his stepbrother, David Stanley, Elvis Presley was particularly interested in young girls aged 15-16. And although many around him were disgusted and worried about these affairs, he managed to get away with them without ever being busted. “He got away with things most people didn’t, because of his money, fortune, fame and power, charisma and magnetism. Elvis could talk the socks off you.”

Did Elvis Took His Own Life?

David Stanley’s shocking statements appeared in the Amazon Prime documentary Elvis’ Women. But Elvis’ deviant tastes are just the tip of the iceberg of information about the King that was not revealed before.

David Stanley is convinced that his stepbrother’s official cause of death is not accurate, or at least that there’s something dark hidden in it. Elvis Presley died on August 16, 1977, at the age of 42, at the iconic Graceland in Memphis. The official cause of death was a heart attack, but a subsequent autopsy revealed that Presley had multiple health problems, including coronary artery disease, hypertension, and a fatty liver.

He was also found to have high levels of prescription drugs in his system, including codeine, diazepam, and methadone. Stanley believes that although he was indeed sick, Elvis actually took his own life. “He premeditated taking the medications that killed him.” Why?

“Love, hurt, pain, exposure — he just couldn’t take it anymore,” explains Stanley in the documentary. According to him, Elvis was very paranoid about being punished for his relationships with teen girls; he “couldn’t carry on” with these fears and decided to erase himself from the map to avoid being caught.

Stanley was very close to his stepbrother and was actually at Graceland when the King of Rock suffered a heart attack. As mentioned, Elvis passed of a heart attack as a result of an overdose. But did he plan it or was it accidental? Although David Stanley is certain Elvis premeditated his passing, there’s no evidence suggesting this is the case.

We’ll probably never know, but despite the passing of time, we’ll likely discover more secret details related to Elvis’ life. We’ll probably get some new info this October in Coppola’s movie that has been fully supported by Priscilla herself!
