Myra Carvalho traveled from Brazil, crashed at a hostel, and sent over 8,000 letters and wedding cards to Harry Styles’ address. It’s worth noting that Carvalho had a partner back in Brazil and left her parents behind to make the trip. There were even reports that Myra expressed ‘sexual urges’ towards Harry Styles. The woman was going through a manic episode, according to her doctor in Brazil, prompting her lawyer to question if Myra was fit to plead guilty.
According to the Daily Mail, the charges also included the fact that she should have known her actions would cause stress, alarm, and disrupt Harry’s daily activities. Reports say the ‘Watermelon Sugar’ singer was left ‘shaken’ by the alleged stalker and the harassment he’s endured in recent weeks.
The 35-year-old woman’s parents heeded the court’s request and showed up for the trial prep at Harrow Crown Court, sitting at Hendon Magistrates’ Court in north London. They’re said to have both shed tears seeing their daughter via videolink from Bronzefield jail in Surrey.
This Isn’t the First Time Harry Styles Has Been Harassed
In the past, Harry had already dealt with harassment from fans. In 2022, he was attacked by an admirer named Diana Tarazaga-Orero. The woman broke into his home three years after being convicted of harassment, forcing Harry to beef up security at his place. He even had to hire a night guard and install a panic door in his room… talk about terrifying.
This news teaches us a lesson: No matter how much you adore a celebrity, invading their privacy is never an excuse to meet your favorite artist. We must remember they’re people too; they feel fear, they have feelings, and there’s absolutely no justification for such aggressive and stalking behavior.
