This September will mark six years since Hugh Hefner passed, and legends about his crazy and hectic life keep emerging. The legendary Playboy creator and boss revolutionized many things revolving the male entertainment and pleasure but also became a setback for how women would be seen and treated worldwide.

His life of excesses, parties, and pleasure was very well-known and applauded. Hugh Hefner never tried to conceal his private life, on the contrary, he was quite open about his escapades and hardcore encounters. He was so open with his private life, that he was proudly known for sharing his love for Viagra, the famous pill that allowed men to perform in bed.

Now, almost six years after he died, more stories regarding the Playboy mogul will surely make the tabloids since his widow Crystal Hefner is ready to tell her story as the last wife of the legendary businessman in a book.

Hugh Hefner Went Deaf Because of Viagra?

In her upcoming book Only Say Good Things, Crystal will share not only things about her life and how she went from being a psychologist to a Playboy model, and eventually Hugh Hefner’s last wife. She’s already shared some deets about the book, and one that shocked fans was the fact that Hugh Hefner went deaf by the end of his life before succumbing to E. coli in 2017.

According to Crystal, even during his last years, Hef was still too worried to perform so he kept consuming Viagra despite the risks of losing his hearing. Deafness is one of Viagra’s most common side effects, and as probably the biggest consumer of the pill, Hef went deaf in one ear. As read in the book, “Hef always said he’d rather be deaf and still able to have sex. Weird.”

Crystal and Hugh Hefner’s Relationship

After several seasons on television where we saw Hugh Hefner’s three girlfriends coexisting in the same mansion, everybody thought Hef would keep having his polyamorous relationships for the rest of his life. However, once Kendra, Holly, and Bridget left him and moved on with his life, Hef was left alone. Although not for long.

In 2007, Crystal met Hugh Hefner. She was 21 and the Playboy boss was 81. They soon started a controversial relationship and eventually, in 2012 the couple tied the knot in a surprising ceremony. The former Playboy model always spoke greatly about Hef, saying that he had saved her life and made her live a true dream.

However, she’s now ready to talk her truth, and things weren’t as magical as she expressed since Hef was toxic and controlling (no surprise here!). She’s revealed that the Playboy founder controlled every single aspect of his wife’s life, including the color of her nails.

Not only that, Crystal was forced to keep up with Hef’s hectic sex life even though they were already married, and as she reveals, her bedroom wasn’t ever hers as dozens of bunnies were constantly invited to their private life.

“Nobody really wanted to be there but I think in Hef’s mind, he still thought he was in his 40s, and those nights, the people, the mansion, solidified that idea. He felt, ‘I’ve still got it.'” Crystal revealed.

Crystal Hefner’s Memoir Book

For the past five years after Hugh Hefner’s passing, Crystal has been a loving widow; always speaking well of him. However, as she has now revealed, she’s “been deprogrammed” after years of therapy and healing.

The title of her upcoming book, Only Say Good Things, comes from an actual conversation the couple had before Hef’s passing. He told her: “Once I go, when I’m gone, please only say good things about me.’” She’s kept her promise for years, but according to the former psychologist and model, she “needed to be honest about my time there. The book is about healing from a toxic environment.”

Only Say Good Things will hit stores in the US in January 2024. Crystal isn’t the only former partner of Hefner to speak up about the horrors lived with the Playboy founder.
