In the middle of the Hurricane Milton crisis, two of music’s biggest stars, Taylor Swift and Dolly Parton, are making headlines not for their music but for their immense generosity. Both artists recently donated significant amounts to aid relief efforts following the devastation caused by this natural tragedy.
Hurricane Milton: Taylor Swift’s $5 Million Donation

Taylor Swift, known not only for her chart-topping hits but also for her charitable heart, recently donated an impressive $5 million to support communities ravaged by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. On October 9th, Feeding America publicly thanked the singer via Instagram for her contribution, stating that her donation will go toward providing food, clean water, and essential supplies to those in need.
“We’re incredibly grateful to Taylor Swift for her generous $5 million donation to Hurricane Helene and Milton relief efforts,” said Claire Babineaux-Fontenot, CEO of Feeding America. “This contribution will help communities rebuild and recover.”

Swift’s donation comes at a critical time as Hurricane Milton, predicted to be one of the costliest disasters in Florida’s history, makes its way toward landfall. With wind speeds previously clocked at over 160 mph, Milton has already left a trail of destruction and uncertainty in its wake.
Dolly Parton’s Million-Dollar Gesture: “These Are My People”

While Swift’s philanthropy captured headlines, country legend Dolly Parton also made a major contribution. The 78-year-old singer donated $1 million toward Hurricane Helene relief efforts, specifically aiding those in her home state of Tennessee. Partnering with Walmart, which increased its own donation to $10 million, Parton’s funds will go to the Mountain Ways Foundation, ensuring resources reach affected areas quickly and efficiently.
During a press conference, Parton expressed her sorrow over the disaster but reinforced her commitment to helping. “I really, really wish that we were all together for another reason, but we’ve all seen the devastation. These are my mountains. These are my valleys. These are my people, and this is my home,” she said.
Both Swift and Parton are no strangers to giving back. Last year, Swift donated $1 million to help victims of Tennessee tornadoes. Additionally, during her Eras Tour in the U.K., she supported local food banks, ensuring thousands of meals were provided to families in need.
Similarly, Parton’s Dollywood Foundation and associated businesses have a long history of disaster relief, including her donation to help those affected by the deadly wildfires in her beloved Smoky Mountains back in 2016.
