Ever since people have been wondering how his close friends and former co-stars have been dealing with the terrible loss. Now, reports indicate that although everybody is reeling, it is Jennifer Aniston the one that’s struggling the most with his passing.
Matthew Perry and Jennifer Aniston grew a very strong bond over the years. Matthew had an immediate crush on Jennifer sometime before they were cast on Friends, and although the actress rejected all his advances, eventually they became very close friends. Matthew Perry said in his 2022 memoir, that she was the one who reached him the most during his past years.
Now, reports indicate that Jennifer is the one reeling the most from Perry’s death. A source close to the cast claims that although all remaining 5 friends are deeply shaken, Perry’s passing has had a deeper impact on Courteney Cox and Jennifer Aniston. “Out of the remaining five, Jen and Courtney [Cox] are reeling the most, and Jen is probably the one who is struggling most acutely.”
Aniston is struggling the most, not only because she lost a great friend, but also because she has been dealing with mourning in the past year. Jennifer Aniston’s father, John Anniston passed on November 11, 2022, not even a year ago, and this new blow has had a huge emotional impact on the actress. “It’s a second massive loss in less than a year, with the first anniversary of her dad’s death just around the corner. She still hasn’t fully regained her footing from that, and now this has just completely knocked her off her feet.”
Although the source reports that she’s “trying to regroup and recover, but it’s been a completely devastating blow.” Still, the actress did attend Perry’s funeral last Friday in Los Angeles. She was spotted along with the rest of the cast at Forest Lawn Cemetery, located just some minutes away from Warner Bros. studios where Perry and the rest of the cast worked for over a decade.
It seems that Jennifer Aniston and Matthew Perry’s bond was truly unbreakable as the actor revealed that she was even the first one to confront and support him during his addiction crisis over the years.
