Two weeks after Kate Middleton stunned the world with her cancer diagnosis, the British press has revealed that the Princess of Wales has donated some of her long locks to an organization dedicated to making wigs for children suffering from cancer.
According to the Sunday Express, Kate allegedly donated 17 centimeters of hair anonymously to the Little Princess Trust, an organization that specializes in making wigs for minors who have lost their hair due to the side effects of chemotherapy.
“It’s beautiful to think that someone, somewhere, probably more than one person, received a wig containing Princess Kate Middleton’s hair,” said Helen Creese, a spokesperson for the Little Princess Trust. “It’s a lovely and fantastic gesture to raise awareness,” she added.

It’s Not the First Time Kate Middleton Donates Her Hair
The idea reportedly came about after a discussion with her hairdresser to undergo a makeover and, in the process, altruistically contribute to others who also suffer from the same illness she does. This isn’t the first time the princess has donated her hair to such organizations. Six years ago, the same outlet reported that William’s wife had cut seven inches of her hair during an appointment at Kensington Palace and suggested to her stylist that they make good use of the locks they were cutting. Her hair was sent to the same organization.
On March 22nd, the Princess of Wales announced that she had been diagnosed with cancer, although she did not specify the type or stage of the disease. However, she stated that she was undergoing “preventive chemotherapy.” In her announcement, the heir’s wife requested privacy from her family, after months of media scrutiny over her health condition.
