Kevin Spacey was one of the first figures to be exposed by the #MeToo Movement right at the peak of his career. He has already faced a court in 2022 for assault in the US where the jury found no evidence to sentence the actor.
Last month, a bigger trial started against Spacey in which he was facing 12 accounts of sexual assault against four men who accused him of forcing himself on them between 2001 and 2013 in London. The victims deemed Kevin Spacey as a “slippery, disgusting, and vile sexual predator.” But despite the accusations, the actor was found not guilty this Wednesday, which is also his birthday.
A jury in London declared Spacey was innocent of nine of the twelve counts while the three other charges were dismissed. The trial started on June 30, and since the very first moment, Spacey pleaded not guilty to all twelve counts against him. He even declared, once the charges were announced, that while he was “disappointed with the Crown Prosecution Services’ decision to move forward, I will voluntarily appear in the U.K. as soon as can be arranged and defend myself against these charges, which I am confident will prove my innocence.”

After many days of witnesses on both sides taking the stand -including A-list celebrities like Elton John and his husband David Furnish, who declared in the actors’ favor- today, on his 64th birthday, Kevin Spacey was cleared of all charges. The actor was seen crying as the jury gave their verdict after 12 hours of deliberation.
He issued the following statement:
“I imagine that many of you can understand that there is a lot for me to process after what has happened today, but I would like to say that I’m enormously grateful to the jury for having taken the time to examine all of the evidence and all of the facts carefully before they reached their decision and I am humbled by the outcome today.”
Although Kevin Spacey has had a huge victory once again in court, it’s still unknown if he will be able to set his career back in motion as he is still facing a more difficult trial… the one that happens at the Court of the Public’s opinion. We’ll see if the House of Cards star will be forgiven…
