Recent events only compounded his distress. Payne’s ex-fiancée, Maya Henry, publicly accused him of harassment following their breakup. Reports claimed that Payne had repeatedly contacted her using different iCloud accounts and phone numbers, even reaching out to her family and friends. In response, Henry issued a cease and desist letter and shared her experience on TikTok.

Payne’s death was reported from Buenos Aires, Argentina, where it’s alleged that he fell from the third floor of his hotel. The exact circumstances of his death are still under investigation, but leaked pictures of the hotel room suggest that the former One Direction member may have experienced a mental health crisis.
Also, the owner of the hotel reportedly sent a voice memo saying: “We have a guest who is overwhelmed by drugs and is destroying the entire room.”
