Madonna hospitalized celebration tour postponed - madonna postpones 'celebration' tour after being rushed to the hospital

Madonna‘s highly-expected Celebration Tour that would start this July 15 in Vancouver will be postponed indefinitely as was announced this Wednesday by his manager Guy Oseary on Instagram. The iconic Queen of Pop had to be rushed to the ICU this past Saturday after being found unresponsive.

According to Oseary, “On Saturday, June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which led to a several-day stay in the ICU. Her health is improving; however, she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected.”

PageSix reported that the singer was taken to a hospital in New York City where she spent one night intubated. The tube has been removed by now and she’s recovering next to her daughter Lourdes Leon.

Celebration Tour Postponed

As mentioned, the Celebration Tour was going to kick off in about two weeks in Canada but as Oseary added in his post, “At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour.” The ambitious 84-date tour will celebrate Madonna’s 40-year iconic career.

So far, it is now known how many shows are being postponed nor when will they be rescheduled, but, likely, the ones scheduled for the next couple of months or the Summer will be the affected ones while Madonna fully recovers and can go back to rehearsals and ultimately the stage.

The first stage of the celebration tour, due to start on July 15 in Vancouver and end on October 8 in Las Vegas was planned to take her repertoire to Canada and the US. Stage 2, the European leg would take place from October to December. Also in December, Madonna would be originally taking Stage 3 of the Celebration tour back to the US and adding four dates in Mexico.
