Natalie portman desigualdad actuacion - “method acting is a luxury that women can’t afford,”: natalie portman exhibits inequalities in acting

Natalie Portman has been in charge of unmasking situations that no one talks about in the world of entertainment. Many of these have to do with the opportunities for women to excel and although it is believed that this does not happen, they continue to be limited. Recently, the Black Swan star exposed inequality in the industry, revealing that method acting “is a luxury that women cannot afford.”

The above is the reason why Natalie Portman confessed to The Wall Street Journal that she does not use this technique that many actors such as Joaquin Phoenix, Jared Leto, and Cillian Murphy have used. However, this has not impeded Natalie Portman from excelling in what she does, since she is one of the most recognized in the world. In addition to her obvious talent, she has managed to transform her body for various roles, such as that of the Black Swan, for which she lost almost 10 kilos, or for her participation in Thor, where she worked out quite a bit.

“I don’t think that children or partners would be very understanding of, you know, me making everyone call me ‘Jackie Kennedy’ all the time,”  she said in an interview for the aforementioned media.

Natalie Portman’s Activism

This is not the first time that Natalie Portman has raised her voice to denounce injustices and inequalities in the industry. Before this, she has been one of the pioneers in exposing gender pay inequality. In 2017, she revealed that she earned three times less than Ashton Kutcher in No Strings Attached, where they both starred. Likewise, in a recent interview for Marie Claire magazine, the actress also acknowledged that it is difficult to complain when one has astronomical salaries.

Their complaints joined those of Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Watson, who have also been in a constant fight to change these types of situations where men continue to benefit the most, regardless of the effort, dedication, and talent that women can. put to their papers.
