Nicole Kidman has finally spoken following her separation from Keith Urban — and she proved she’s exactly the kind of person you’d want advice from when it comes to love, heartbreak, and healing. After nearly 20 years of marriage, the couple announced their split at the end of September. This marks Nicole’s second divorce; her first was in 2001 after 11 years with Tom Cruise. So, it’s safe to say she’s learned a thing or two about life — and about how to move forward when your heart feels like chaos.
Nicole Kidman’s Masterclass on Love and Healing
In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Nicole Kidman opened up about how to overcome a failed relationship — or any difficult situation in life. And while her advice may sound simple, her words are full of comfort and hope that everything will eventually be okay.

“It’s important to know that no matter how painful, hard, or devastating something is, there’s a way through it. You have to feel it. You can’t numb it. You have to feel it — and sometimes it’ll feel unbearable,” Nicole shared.
She also admitted that the process will make you feel shattered, but if you “move carefully and slowly,” everything will eventually pass — even if it takes time. Her advice, coming from someone who’s lived deeply and survived heartbreak, is to embrace your pain, feel it down to your bones, and carry it with you — because one day, you’ll see that things do get better.
Nicole also said that one of the best things about life and getting older is gaining perspective — being able to analyze situations more calmly and handle them better over time.

“Maybe I haven’t been in this exact situation, but I’ve lived through something similar, and I know I’ll get through it. I want to share what I’ve learned. I’ve seen a lot, experienced a lot, and survived a lot,” said the Oscar-winning actress.
Without a doubt, everyone will experience heartbreak at some point — and for those who get married, hopefully they’ll never have to go through a separation. But if it ever happens, Nicole Kidman’s advice is perhaps the best to follow: wise, tender, and full of love.
