OJ Simpson was diagnosed with prostate cancer and had already begun chemotherapy treatment. According to rumors, the player was admitted to hospice care, but Simpson denied this information. In an interview, he even jokingly said that the rumors were completely false, that he hadn’t even entered the hospital, and that in fact, he was preparing for a party with a “ton of friends” to celebrate Super Bowl 58.

OJ Simpson’s Battle with Cancer
In May 2023, the player expressed in a video on his X account that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer and was undergoing marijuana treatment for medical purposes.
“I had to do the whole chemo thing … I started smoking a couple of puffs a day, and I only had nausea twice. I’m over the chemo. I only got nauseous on two occasions. … The pot really helped me with the unfortunate side of catching cancer.
“I’m healthy now,” he continued. “It looks like I beat it. I’m happy about that.”
OJ Simpson’s Life
OJ Simpson was known for his involvement as a running back for the Buffalo Bills and later for the San Francisco 49ers; unfortunately, his football skills were not the only thing that made him famous.
In 1994, the former player was brought to trial for the double murder of his then-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman, who were found stabbed to death outside of her condo on June 12, 1994. Five days after the murder, it was revealed that the police were chasing him along with his alleged accomplice, Al Cowlings, as they attempted to escape in a white Ford Bronco.

What shocked many was that it was later revealed that during the pursuit, Cowling was driving the car while OJ was in the back threatening to commit suicide.
Interestingly, part of Simpson’s legal team was the late father of the Kardashians, Robert Kardashian, who during the trial, managed to get OJ acquitted because the evidence of a glove with the victims’ blood did not match the size of the player’s hand. Despite being acquitted in the criminal trial, OJ Simpson was found liable for the death of his wife Nicole in a civil trial.
