On The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Olivia recounted the terrifying moment during her Guts world tour. Laughing now, she shared that her first run-in with the law was an absolute shocker.
Olivia Rodrigo Almost Ended Up in Jail
The incident happened when Olivia was traveling from Canada to Portland. She and her team had just passed through border control when, suddenly, a knock on the tour bus door demanded, “We need Olivia.”
Assuming the officer might just want an autograph, she stepped off the bus, only to be escorted to an interrogation room with a large, armed officer waiting for her.
“I must be delusional,” she thought, as panic set in. The officer asked if she had ever been arrested, and when she replied no, he questioned, “Are you sure?”
With the tension building, Olivia even joked, “Maybe I was arrested, and I just didn’t know it!” The officer was not amused, warning her she could go to jail for lying to a federal agent. Olivia, now mid-panic, could hardly believe what was happening.

After half an hour, the officer asked her name again. “Olivia Rodrigo, RODRIGO,” she clarified, and that’s when the officer realized his mistake. “Oh, there’s another girl, same age, who looks just like you, and her name is Olivia Rodríguez,” he admitted, explaining that this look-alike had been arrested multiple times.
Though it was a scare Olivia won’t forget anytime soon, she laughs now looking back on the story!
