Monday, March 6th was unexpected news for the world of heavy metal, as Paddy Bowden, who was the wife of the iconic Iron Maiden vocalist, Bruce Dickinson, died suddenly during the morning.
In an official statement that Dickinson made to the specialized metal site Loudwire, Bruce revealed that “the tragedy appears to be a tragic accident” and confirmed that they will not be making any statement later as it is a tremendously difficult and painful time for the family. Bruce and the children he had with Paddy, Austin, Griffin, and Kia are devastated. According to the World 24 News site, the London ambulance service confirmed having sent two ambulances after being requested at 9:42 am and the first arrived 2 minutes later.
The U.S. newspaper The Sun reported that Bowden was found dead at her home in Chiswick, London. Paddy was married to Bruce from 1990 to 2018 and before that, she had a two-year relationship with the singer, for which they were together for more than 30 years. According to El Cuartel del Metal, they got married in a small and exclusive ceremony for family members; it is unknown if the band was invited.
In addition to this, statements had been reported where Bruce confessed that Paddy was the love of her life and he had plans to spend the rest of her life with her. On the other hand, her son Austen followed in his father’s footsteps by participating in bands such as Rise to Remain and As Lions. The Dickinson family has remained close to music.

For the past two years, Bruce Dickinson has lived in France with his current partner, fitness instructor Leana Dolci. Although Dickinson has always kept his personal life as far away from the public eye as possible, he is also known for being the pilot of the Ed Force One plane, with which Iron Maiden toured the world, brewmaster and owner of the Trooper brand and a highly respected speaker and business lecturer at various events around the world. We join in the grief that he seizes his family at this time.
