Sad news for the entertainment world as it’s been announced that the legendary actor Paul Reubens passed this Sunday at 70 years of age. He was best remembered for his iconic role of Pee-wee Herman in several beloved films and tv series.
Paun Reubens passed on cancer, which he kept private from the public. In a statement posted on his Instagram account after his passing, the actor addressed his fans and apologized for not coming clean about his disease:
“Please accept my apology for not going public with what I’ve been facing the last six years. I have always felt a huge amount of love and respect from my friends, fans, and supporters. I have loved you all so much and enjoyed making art for you.”
“Last night we said farewell to Paul Reubens, an iconic American actor, comedian, writer, and producer whose beloved character Pee-wee Herman delighted generations of children and adults with his positivity, whimsy, and belief in the importance of kindness,” read a statement issued by Reuben’s estate.
They added: “Paul bravely and privately fought cancer for years with his trademark tenacity and wit. A gifted and prolific talent, he will forever live in the comedy pantheon and our hearts as a treasured friend and man of remarkable character and generosity of spirit.”
We will always remember his red bowtie, grey suit, and more importantly, honest and charismatic personality.
